Along with each email announcement of outreach opportunities, a response deadline will be given.  Once the deadline is reached, any student who has volunteered for an event will have their name selected at random until all spots are filled.  Any students not selected will have their names “rollover” into future outreach selections, i.e., their name will be entered twice into the next selection pool.  This system will hopefully make outreach assignments a little more fair and well distributed, and not require that students race to respond to outreach emails in order to secure a spot.
