If you are interested in participating in any of these events, please respond to either Liz Stanko or Andrew Trooien by 12:00 noon, Monday, July 7th.
1. New system for distributing outreach assignments. This will replace the "first come, first serve” system. Along with each email announcement of outreach opportunities, a response deadline will be given. Once the deadline is reached, any student who has volunteered for an event will have their name selected at random until all spots are filled. Any students not selected will have their names “rollover” into future outreach selections, i.e., their name will be entered twice into the next selection pool. This system will hopefully make outreach assignments a little more fair and well distributed, and not require that students race to respond to outreach emails in order to secure a spot.
2. Event evaluation forms. In an effort to make our outreach events as rewarding and productive as possible, Debbie Licata has created an evaluation form that can be submitted by student participants to provide feedback after an event. In addition, we would also like to use these forms as a more formal way to track attendance to events. What does this mean? Ultimately, in order to receive BOCA points in return for participating in an event, we ask that you submit the evaluation form to not only provide valuable feedback, but also for us to track your attendance. These forms will be provided both in hard copy format along with all the other supplies at the outreach events, as well as attached to all announcement emails. You can return the forms to Liz or me in whatever way is easiest: physical copy, email a photo of the completed form, or fill out electronically.
